At Shivtr we follow industry standard security measures and try our hardest to insure the safety of your data.

Physical Security

We host Shivtr with SoftLayer, the largest privately held Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider in the world. SoftLayer provides state-of-the-art security for their servers with 24/7 physical security monitoring, proximity security badge access, and digital security video surveillance.

Protection Against Data Loss

We use RAID 10 data storage on all of our servers and take daily backups of our databases. Copies of these backups are then sent securely to offsite storage services for safe-keeping. In addition to these protection measures, the Shivtr Hosting service provides an Audit Log feature which tracks content created, updated or deleted on your site. In the case where a malicious user attempts to delete data from your site, the audit log makes recovery easy on your own, allowing you to see the actions they performed, and restore any content they flagged for deletion.

Regularly-patched infrastructure.

Our software infrastructure is updated regularly with the latest security patches, and critical updates are applied immediately. Our products run on a dedicated network which is locked down with firewalls, and we use SoftLayers private network to further protect our servers behind their VPN.

Server Monitoring

We use redundant, world-wide monitoring services to watch over Shivtr's infrastructure. Any errors or problems with the service trigger alarms which notify our staff so we can work quickly to resolve them.

User Account Security

Passwords for user accounts are stored only in encrypted hashes, which are salted for additional security. Not even Shivtr employees are able to see your password, and we will never ask for it. User accounts are protected against brute-force attacks and automatically lock logins after several failed attempts.
